Let’s Build Wealth Together
What We Teach
Startup Advisory Group’s Investment Community is a self-learning environment where individuals can join to learn sound fundamentals of investing and trading. We believe that anyone can learn how to invest. We pride ourselves on teaching sound investing and trading principles so people can develop the right approach to successfully invest over their lifetime.
In our community we are teaching people a few different investment approaches
How to Identify Businesses with Long Term Growth Prospects
How to Read Charts
How to Leverage Economic Data, Central Bank Actions, & Geopolitics to Find Investment Opportunities
At the core of our philosophy, if you can understand what is driving a stock price or asset class, you can put together an investment that allows you to profit in an up or down market. We put together a 3-week curriculum that teaches people the following:
Week 1 - Introduction to The Stock Market & Financial System
Week 2 - How to Research Stocks & Generate New Ideas
Week 3 - Generate Your First Investment Idea Independently
When you can generate ideas independently, you now have a skillset that will allow you to make your money work for you! Now the game becomes about discovering what approach works for you and mastering that craft.
To help you improve we provide books and supplementary material for you to read or watch to continue learning about the market and developing your investment skills.
Mentorship has been the cornerstone of our community. Our founder works very closely with the members on their investment ideas and makes sure to always provide constructive criticism on their trading/investment ideas. With constant feedback, our members can learn and get to profitability faster. We hold weekly virtual meetups where we go through ideas and allow members to ask any questions they like openly. We also host workshops and bring in guest speakers to teach our group about various topics.
Growth Investing
We start with teaching people how to identify good businesses with solid fundamentals. We recommend everyone to read One Up on Wall Street with Peter Lynch as a good introduction to the growth investing philosophy. Our aim is to show people that investing can be simple and that as an individual investor you have advantages that allows you to beat out institutional investors. We teach the following:
How to Identify a Growing Business
How to Find and Properly Go Through Annual Reports, Quarterly Reports, & Investor Presentations
How to Read Financial Statements
Conducting Thorough Competitive Analysis
How to Leverage Domain Knowledge as an Investment Edge
Charting / Technical Analysis
Understanding how to read a chart is a fundamental skill set that every trader should have, especially if you wish to be an active trader. We teach the following:
How to Understand Candlesticks Charts
How to Identify Important Price Levels
How to Identify Trends
How to Identify a Trading Range
How to Analyze Charts with Multiple Time Frames
Basic Buying / Shorting Trading Patterns
Being able to read a chart can help you invest with better execution. For the people who wish to be active traders, this skillset is crucial for short term traders. We recommend reading Technical Analysis Explained: The Successful Investor's Guide to Spotting Investment Trends and Turning Points by Martin Pring to serve as a solid foundation into technical analysis and charting. We were fortunate to have this book sponsored by Chelsea Financial Services for 13 members of the group.
Global Macro Trading
Understanding economic data and the business cycle is important for active trading and investing. We teach people how economic data like inflation, interest rates, and GDP can affect the prices of various asset classes. We also teach people how central bank actions can affect the prices of various asset classes as well. Having this knowledge, one can now leverage economic data and central bank actions to find investment opportunities. We show people where to find global economic data and latest news on sites like www.tradingeconomics.com and www.forexfactory.com .
